Egyptian football club Al Ahly advanced Wednesday in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup tournament by beating New Zealand’s Auckland City 3-0.
Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Sherif and Percy Tau scored at Tangier Stadium in Morocco to take the Cairo-based club to the second round.
Al Ahly will face the American team, Seattle Sounders, on Saturday.
Morocco is hosting the FIFA Club World Cup.
The semifinals will be held on Feb. 7 and 8.
Reigning Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo from Brazil and defending UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid from Spain will join the competition in the semifinal round.
