Ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nigeria’s Super Falcons group opponent Australia has lined up a series of friendly matches for the tournament.
The Matildas who are also one of the hosts are placed in the same group with Super Falcons, the Republic of Ireland and one of the tournament favorites Canada.
One of the friendly matches had been fixed against Shepolopolo of Zambia, which they believed will give them the experience of how Nigeria plays.
Zambia surprisingly finished 3rd in the 2022 Women African Cup of Nations in Morocco after they defeated Super Falcons by a lone goal in the third-place playoff.
Australia will face Nigeria in the second group match in Melbourne.
