Super Eagles and CD Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo has expressed his excitement after making his 60th cap for the country.
Omeruo made his debut for the Super Eagle in January 2013 against Cape Verde after having a successful time with the U20 team under John Obuh as a coach.
He was part of the victorious Super Eagles team that lifted the African Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2013 under the late coach Stephen Keshi.
The former Chelsea defender was happy after helping Nigeria to a 0-1 away win over Guinea Bissau in matchday 4 of the 2023 AFCON qualifier
“Privileged to have played my 60th cap for the Super Eagles. All glory to God for the victory.
“I never thought I would even get one cap for Nigeria, let alone 100.
It has been a long road, a load of ups and downs, but it has been worth every single second. I never thought I would get here, so I am really happy”, he said.
