Newly appointed Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr has encouraged the country U20 to emulate Nigeria’s Flying Eagles as they push to reach the quarter-final of the competition.
The Cheetah will face Gambia later on Monday in the final group game of the ongoing U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt in a game they must not lose.
Rohr who was the former coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles was part of the Flying Eagles team to Poland for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Franco-German gaffer urged the players to push for the qualification.
“You have an important game and it’s playable. You will qualify. You have a good team because I followed your 2 matches.
“The World Cup is a great adventure. I have already experienced it with the Junior team of Nigeria that I accompanied 3 years ago in Poland.
“You have good cohesion and solidarity and I do not doubt that you will impose yourself”, he said.
