Barcelona fans have resorted to social media to mock Thomas Muller after Germany crashed out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In a topsy-turvy night of football action, Group E of the World Cup in Qatar took shape and surprisingly saw Japan progress to the knockout phase as group winners with Spain occupying the second spot.
Germany were eliminated from the Mundial on goal difference despite recording a 4-2 victory against Costa Rica at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Muller and his Germany colleagues were left in tears as they exited the tournament in the group stage for the second time in succession.
Die Mannschaft failed to make the round of 16 stage in the 2018 world cup, and have failed to qualify again, after winning the tournament in 2014. And after the four-time champions’ elimination from the football’s biggest showpiece, a lot of Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to aim a dig at the Bayern Munich forward.
