The manager of the Belgian Jupiler League side KRC Genk Jacky Mathijssen has thrown his weight behind the under-fire Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare.
The lanky Nigeria attacker has been under intensive criticism due to his below-par performance for the club.
The player rose from the bench on Sunday evening to score the equaliser in the home game against Anderlecht.
The coach said Arokodare deserved to be supported by the club fans irrespective of what was going on.
“There is still a lot of work to be done on Tolu but as a staff, he deserves to be supported so that he can get the most satisfaction.
But with this goal, he proves that he deserves the support of the club”, he said.
Arokodare joined the Limburgers last summer from the French Ligue Two side Amiens SC but incessant injury has limited his appearances for the club.
