The 2022 Championship of African Nations finally kicked off on Friday at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Algiers and it was a good outing for the host.

In the second half, Algeria to rely on a Libyan defensive error to see striker Aimen Mahious open the scoring.
The Algerian takes advantage of a bad pass sent by the opposing defender to find himself facing goalkeeper Muad Allafi.
The Libyan goalkeeper brought down the Algerian striker and causes the penalty which was converted by Mahious as the game ended 1-0 in favour of the host.
