To add more colours to the opening ceremony of the 2023 Championship of African Nations in Algeria, the arrangement has been concluded to have the president of FIFA Gianni Infantino among the dignitaries.
The North African country will stage the biennial competition with 18 teams already secured their spot.
Infantino who is seeking to retain his position as the president of the world soccer ruling body has in the past shown great support for African football.
Executive council members including Nigeria’s Amaju Pinnick are expected to be present at the opening ceremony.
The ceremony is slated for Nelson Mandela stadium in Algiers on January 13th, 2023.
