Scott Parker has been sacked by Club Brugge following their 5-1 Champions League thumping by Benfica.
Former Fulham and Bournemouth boss Parker only took charge in December but has won just two of his 12 games.
The final humiliation came in the Champions League thrashing to the in-form Portuguese side, which ended as a 7-1 aggregate loss.
Parker, who was sent packing by Premier League club Bournemouth back in August, was only hired by Brugge on December 31 following the exit of Carl Hoefkens.
The former Bournemouth and Fulham boss, 42, lasted just 12 matches in charge of the Belgian outfit having been appointed on the final day of 2022. His first match in charge ended in a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Genk and the club have picked up just 12 points throughout his tenure.
After losing 3-0 to relegation-threatened Oostende, the three-time Belgian champions are 21 points behind Genk in the race for the title. And Parker’s misery was compounded by a humbling loss in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
In a short 52-word statement on Wednesday, Club Brugge confirmed: ‘Scott Parker is no longer the head coach of Club Brugge. Parker was announced as the new head coach of Club Brugge on December 31 last year. ‘The English ex-international previously worked for Fulham and Bournemouth and replaced Carl Hoefkens at Club. In 12 games, the Briton could only win 2 times.’
