Nigeria champion Rivers United failed to beat Diable Noirs of Congo on Sunday but the 2-2 draw was enough to qualify the team for the quarter-final.
The Congolese scored the opening goal in the 27th minute through an own goal from Emmanuel Ampiah.
Joseph netted the equalizer for Rivers United early in the second half and Nyima Nwagua put them ahead in the 73rd minute.
As the game was coasting home, Egalise Bassinga scored an equalizer later in the game.
The draw is enough to qualify the Nigerian side for the quarter-final of the tournament.
