It was a mixed feeling for Nigeria’s Super Eagles eligible player Chuba Akpom whose goal counted for little in Middlesbrough’s heavy defeat against premier league side Brighton Hove Albion.
Akpom has been outstanding for the championship club this season, leading the scorer’s table with 13 goals.
At the Rivers side stadium on Saturday, Middlesbrough suffered a 1-5 defeat to the visiting Seagull.
Pascal Gross netted the opening goal for the away side in the 8th minute before Akpom levelled up in the 15th minute.
Further goals from Adam Lallana, Undave, and a brace from MacAllister handed Middlesbrough a comprehensive home defeat.
