Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has stated that they worked hard to secure the vital away win.
Awoniyi netted the only goal of the game as Nottingham Forest defeated Southampton at St Mary Stadium on Wednesday.
While speaking to the club media, former Mainz 05 attacker said the coach has been urging them to keep working hard, especially at the away ground.
“We’ve been looking for this for a long time and the gaffer was saying to us that we have to improve our away form and we’re happy to have the three points.
“You have to work hard in every game in the Premier League and you’ll see the results if you keep going and keep fighting”, he said.
The win catapulted Nottingham Forest away from the bottom 3.
