Following his distinctive display in the just concluded 2022/2023 English Premier League season, Nigeria’s Super Eagle forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been named Leicester City Player of the Season.
Despite having injury worries and loss of form, the Nigerian International was able to score 8 goals including vital goals against Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Iheanacho scored 2 goals in 3 matches under the newly appointed manager Dean Smith before he sustained an injury against Leeds United.
The injury kept them out of action for up to 4 games and he staged a return in the final game against West Ham United but it seems too late as they were relegated to the second tier of English football.
It remained unseen if the former Manchester City forward will remain at the King Power stadium next season or he will seek greener pastures elsewhere.
