England’s League Cup will resume on Tuesday and premier league side Leicester City is set to have Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi back in their team for a clash against Newport County.
Ndidi has been out of action for the Foxes recently due to injury but is one of the players listed by the team coach Brendan Rodgers to start on Tuesday.
“We want to get through,” Rodgers said. “I won’t be making too many changes. A lot of the players need to be ready to go again.
“I changed the team about when we went to Stockport and we nearly went out. I don’t want to do that. I want to go through it. I think I’ve shown that in the cup competitions. We’ll make some changes naturally, but there won’t be too many”, he said.
Leicester City has only played Newport once, the 2-1 FA Cup third-round defeat in 2019, towards the end of Claude Puel’s tenure. The Exiles are five unbeaten in all competitions and sit 18th in the League Two table.
