Antetokounmpo scored 31 points for the Bucks as they hit a season-high 26 three-pointers in a 139-117 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night in their 16th straight victory. By the virtue of this, they also became the league leading team with 45 victories and 17 loses in total.
Antetokounmpo shot 10 of 14 overall, 3 of 4 from three-point range and 8 of 10 from the line. The two-time MVP also had seven rebounds and six assists.
Jrue Holiday had 23 points and nine assists for the Bucks.
Brook Lopez scored 18 and Ingles 16.
Orlando’s Cole Anthony scored a season-high 28 points. Markelle Fultz added 21, Wendell Carter Jr. 19 and Franz Wagner 18. Carter also had 10 rebounds.
NEW ORLEANS PELICANS 121 – 110 PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
Brandon Ingram posted a season-high 40 points and the New Orleans Pelicans defeated Portland 121-110 on Wednesday night in the first showdown between Damian Lillard and former Trail Blazers team-mate CJ McCollum.
McCollum added 24 points to help the Pelicans end a four-game losing streak.
Lillard scored 41 points for the Trail Blazers.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS 123 – 117 OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
Despite LeBron James and Anthony Davis both out with right foot injuries and D’Angelo Russell because of a sprained right ankle, yet the Lakers won for the fourth time in five games.
Dennis Schroder scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half
Troy Brown Jr scored a season-high 19 points and Austin Reaves added 19 for the Lakers.
Jalen Williams scored 24 points, Josh Giddey had 22 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds and Lu Dort added 19 points for the Thunder.
Thunder star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averages 31 points, missed out due to health and safety protocols and an abdominal strain.
This was Oklahoma City’s 5th straight loss since the All-Star break
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 113 – 99 HOUSTON ROCKETS
Memphis Grizzlies breezed past the Houston rockets by 113-99 victory to inflict their 11th straight loss on them.
Desmond Bane scored 30 points, Ja Morant added 20 points, he also had seven assists and seven rebounds against the Rockets without playing in the fourth quarter to help the Grizzlies to their third straight victory.
The victory ended an eight-game away winless streak in the opener of a four-game road trip and was the Grizzlies’ first victory away from Memphis since Jan. 14 at Indiana.
For the Losing Rockets, Jalen Green scored 20 points and Kenyon Martin Jr 19, as they were dealt another defeat.
BROOKLYN NETS 118 – 142 NEW YORK KNICKS
Jalen Brunson scored 30 of his 39 points in the first half, Quentin Grimes scored 22 points and Julius Randle added 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the New York Knicks as they got their seventh straight victory, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 142-118
And for the Nets, Cam Johnson scored a season-high 33 points, while Bridges added 21.
The Knicks made nearly 80 per cent of their shots in a 47-point first quarter and coasted to their second victory over the Nets since their city rivals traded Kevin Durant to the Suns and Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks.
The Nets had won the previous nine meetings, including the first two this season.
As a result of the victory, the Knicks opened a two-game lead over the Nets for the No 5 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets have now lost four straight games.
PHILADELPHIA 76ERS 119 – 96 MIAMI HEAT
Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points, James Harden added 23 points, Tobias Harris scored 18 points, while Paul Reed had 16 points, 14 rebounds for the 76ers as they got a 119-96 win over the Miami Heat even with the absence of Joel Embiid with left foot soreness..
Bam Adebayo scored 20 for the Heat, Jimmy Butler also scored 16 before leaving in the fourth quarter with right knee soreness.
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 113 – 117 BOSTON CELTICS
Jayson Tatum scored 41 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists as Boston earned its first victory in three games versus Cleveland this season in a 117-113 thriller
With his 20th career 40-point game, the 24-year-old Jason surpassed Giannis Antetokounmpo for seventh place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list for players under 25.
Al Horford added 23 points and 11 rebounds for Boston. Jaylen Brown finished with 16 points.
Donovan Mitchell scored 44 points for the cavaliers and sidestepped an injury following a fall in the third quarter. .Darius Garland added 29 points and nine assists for the Cavaliers.
Cleveland dropped to 13-19 on the road this season and 19-12 against teams above .500.
CHICAGO BULLS 117 – 115 DETROIT PISTONS
Zach LaVine scored 41 points helping the Chicago Bulls hold on for a 117-115 win over the Pistons
The Pistons were trailing by two points with 9.7 seconds left when rookie Jaden Ivey called a timeout — one more than they had — to trigger a technical foul that gave LaVine a free throw that he made.
DeMar DeRozan, who scored 21 points, Coby White had 14 points, Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points and Patrick Williams added 11 for the Bulls, who have won 14 straight against Detroit.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 34 for the Pistons, who have now lost six straight games for the third time this season.
PHOENIX SUNS 105 – 91 CHARLOTTE HORNETS
Kevin Durant scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and blocking two shots in 27 minutes on 10-of-15 shooting in his Suns debut, as they ended the Charlotte Hornets’ five-game winning streak with a wire-to-wire 105-91 victory
Devin Booker also scored 37 points and Deandre Ayton had 16 points and 16 rebounds in the Suns’ seventh victory in 10 games. Chris Paul added 11 assists.
Durant, who has been out injured for more than 7 weeks with a sprained right knee made a switch to the Suns in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets on February 9.
Kelly Oubre Jr had 26 points, and Terry Rozier added 20 points for the Hornets who were without their star guard, LaMelo Ball, who is out of the season after going through a surgery on Wednesday to repair a fracture in his right ankle.
