Julius Randle impressive 57 points insufficient as the Knicks lost to the Timberwolves.
DALLAS MAVERICKS 108-112 MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Jaren Jackson Jr’s 28 points powered the Memphis Grizzlies to a hard-fought home win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Santi Aldama also scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds to earn his fourth double-double of the season for the Grizzlies.
At the end of the third quarter, they were trailing by 13 points but eventually outscored the Dallas Mavericks 29-12 in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
For the Mavericks, still without Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving led with a team-high 28 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Chris Wood added 20 points and 9 rebounds as they suffered their 36th loss of the season.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 121-108 HOUSTON ROCKETS
The Golden State finally ended their 11-game losing streak on the road with a victory over Houston as the Splash brothers combined for 59 points.
Steph Curry finished with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Klay Thompson added 29 points and 7 rebounds. They also both combined to shoot 21-for-44 overall and 10-for-28 from 3-point range.
Jonathan Kuminga off the bench also added 17 points for the warriors to end their 11 game losing streak on the road with their last victory away from home coming at Oklahoma City on January 30.
For the Houston Rockets, Rookie Tari Eason posted his seventh double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds while fellow rookie Jabari Smith Jr. also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
INDIANA PACERS 109-115 CHARLOTTE HORNETS
The Charlotte Hornets came back from a 21-point first-half deficit to defeat visiting Indiana Pacers at home.
Kelly Oubre Jr scored 28 points, Terry Rozier scored 23 points, Gordon Hayward finished with 22 points and Nick Richards scored 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for the Hornets as they snapped their four-game losing streak by winning the finale of a five-game homestand.
While for the Indiana Pacers, Myles Turner and Buddy Hield scored 20 points each. Bennedict Mathurin also notched 18 points, Isaiah Jackson had 12 points and Jalen Smith added 10 points.
SACRAMENTO KINGS 124-128 UTAH JAZZ
Short-handed Utah Jazz defeated the Sacramento Kings in Salt Lake City as rookie Ochai Agbaji ran riot with a career-high 27 points.
Despite the absence of injured all star starter Lauri Markkanen with a back injury, Jordan Clarkson with a finger injury and Collin Sexton with hamstring injury, Agbaji inspired the Jazz to victory with his several key plays. Kelly Olynyk also scored 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists Kris Dunn added 18 points and a season-high 10 assists. Udoka Azubuike scored a career-high 13 points and a season-best eight rebounds.
In total, Eight players scored in double figures for the Jazz, finishing with a 52% shooting from the field.
For the Kings, De’Arron Fox scored 37 points and 7 assists. Keegan Murray added 22 points. Fox and Murray combined to make 12 3-pointers. Harrison Barnes also scored 16 points and Malik Monk added 15 points.
The Loss in Utah ended the Kings three-game winning streak.
MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 140-134 NEW YORK KNICKS
Taurean Prince stole the show, hitting all his 8 three-point shots and also scoring the final basket with 10.4 seconds left as the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the New York Knicks 140-134 at the Madison Square Garden.
Prince ended the game with 35 points and was just one three-pointer shy of tying the NBA record for most three-pointers without a miss, held by Ben Gordon (twice) and Latrell Sprewell.
Prince is just the seventh player to hit at least eight three-pointers without a miss.
Mike Conley had a double-double of 24 points and 11 assist. Jaden McDaniels scored 18 points while Rudy Gobert had 16 points for the Timberwolves as they snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory.
For the Knicks, Julius Randle had a monstrous 57-points performance – The third-most points in a game in the Knicks history, five points shy of equalling Carmelo Anthony’s franchise record that was set in 2014. Jalen Brunson also added 23 points for the Knicks.
CHICAGO BULLS 109-105 PHILADELPHIA 76ERS
Zach LaVine 26 points powered the visiting Chicago Bulls to victory over host Philadelphia 76ers in double overtime.
DeMar DeRozan also added 25 point, scoring consecutive shots to tie the game before LaVine and Coby White sealed the victory with two free throws apiece in the final 51.4 seconds left in the second overtime.
League leading scorer, Joel Embiid scored 37 points with 16 rebounds for the Sixers, before being fouled out in the second overtime trying to block LaVine’s shot.
Tyrese Maxey added 22 points and Tobias Harris also scored 14 points as they remain third in the Eastern Conference Log.
