Kyrie Irving has made a shocking request to get traded from the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant is on his way out too. The 13-time All-Star is set to be traded to the Phoenix Suns as the NBA trade deadline closes in a few hours.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Durant will be traded to the 2021 NBA Finalsist for a package including Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks and additional draft compensation.
Wantaway Suns forward Jae Crowder will also be sent to Brooklyn as part of the deal. Just like Irving, Durant leaves the Nets after three and a half years, which was hugely unsuccessful.
After last year’s dismal performance in the playoffs, the Suns have made a move that makes their intentions clear. They want to win the title. With Devin Booker, veteran point guard Chris Paul and now Durant, they have a team that can go all the way.
Please note that trades are only official once team accounts make an official statement. We will endevor to keep you up to date with all rumours and speculation.
