The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday four kickoff today, Saturday and there are expectations for yet another scintillating encounter from different match centres.
So far, a total of 61 goals, eight away wins, 13 home victories and nine draws have been recorded in 30 games played this season.
Who leads in group A: Bendel Insurance or Remo Stars?
A reignited interest from the NNL would suffice when Bendel Insurance welcomes Remo Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday. The game would determine who leads in Group A with both teams having equal nine points with difference in goals.
As for Bendel Insurance, they will be facing another tough test on their verge to maintain their dominance in the league having defeated Kwara United last Sunday. However, previous stats showed that both clubs have more draws in their last seven encounters. Both teams have played a stalemate four times while Bendel Insurance has two wins with Remo Stars earning just a victory.
The last time they both met in the NPFL in 2019, it ended in a stalemate.
Both teams have a strong squad which means maximum points would be hardfought.
Who bounces back between Enyimba and Kwara United?
Both Enyimba and Kwara United lost their last game and will be seeking to bounce back from the shocking defeat. However, Kwara United will be visiting the People’s Elephants in Aba for a way to redeem themselves from the home loss to Bendel Insurance.
Meanwhile, Kwara United are yet to pick a point in Aba since their 1-1 draw in 2018. More also, both sides have played 16 times and only two draws were recorded with eight wins and six defeats for Enyimba. Enyimba’s last home game against Kwara United ended in a 3-0 victory where Victor Mbaoma scored a hattrick. It was also the MC Algiers’ last activity for Elephants before departing to Algeria.
With the floundering style from the Harmony boys, they could face another defeat from Enyimba who are seeking their first home win of the season.
Who continues the pace between Akwa United and Plateau United
Akwa United and Plateau United recorded their first win in the league last Sunday. While Akwa United away win was a record breaking moment, Plateau United dashed Finidi George and Enyimba’s hope for a second away win in Jos.
Just as two teams who suffered defeats, Enyimba and Kwara United will be facing each other, Akwa United and Plateau United who are on winning ways will seek to go past the narrow way on Sunday at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.
For Fidelis Ilechukwu and his boys they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Bendel Insurance, another South-Southern club during matchday two.
In their last 12 games, Akwa United has won four times with Plateau United winning three times and five draws.
