Ahead of the stanza of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season, the head coach of Remo Stars Daniel Ogunmodede has confirmed the club’s readiness to acquire more strikers.
The Sky Blue Boys started the season strongly winning their games until they met Bendel Insurance who brought them down to earth with a 3-0 spanking.
Since then the Ikenne-based club has continued to find it difficult to score goals, especially on the away ground.
They lost their final game of the first stanza 2-0 to Nasarawa United, in a game their coach believed they should have got something if their striker took their chances.
While speaking to Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan, Ogunmodede insisted that talks are ongoing to secure the services of 2 or 3 strikers.
” Lack of strikers is one of the reasons will perform below average in the first stanza and we have opened discussions with 2 to 3 strikers and the discussion has reached an advanced stage.
The game against Plateau United was the toughest game for us in the first stanza”, he insisted.
Remo Stars will hope to revive their hope of getting a continental ticket when the second stanza of the league resume in March.
