The Match Day 13 of the Nigeria Women Football League took place on Wednesday across different centres with some interesting results recorded.
In Benin City, Edo Queens was the biggest winner of the day after thrashing relegated Ibom Angels by 4-0.
Godwin Eunice opened the scoring as early as the 2nd minute, Ibom Angel player Friday Esther scored an own goal in the 14th minute to double the lead for the home team. Abideen Suliat made it 3 in the 29th minute before Fajobi Yetunde wrapped up the scoring in the 34th for an emphatic win for Edo Queens.
At the Osogbo Township Stadium, Osun Babes suffered a home defeat to the defending champions Bayelsa Queens, Zainab Olapade scored for the away team in the 13th minute
The win for Bayelsa United gave them the needed number of points to qualify for the NWFL Super Six playoffs alongside Confluence Queens and Delta Queens with a game to spare
With the final round of the regular season set for the next few days, three more slots are up for grabs on the final day for a place in the Super 6 playoffs
