For the second consecutive time, Remo Stars has failed to go beyond the first preliminary round of the CAF Inter-Club Competitions.
Last year the team lost out to FAR Rabat of Morocco in the first round of the Confederation Cup and this season again, they are out to Medeama SC of Ghana.
After losing 1-0 in the first leg played at the Cape Coast Stadium, the hope was high that maybe they could cross the line this time around but it was never meant to be as they 3-2 via penalty shoot-output.
After a scoreless first half, the host went ahead in the 73rd minute via an own goal, and the game ended 1-0 in favor of the Nigerians.
The game headed straight into penalty kicks but Remo Stars could only convert 2 of their kicks while Medeama SC converted 3 as it ended 2-3.
