Nigeria’s Under-14 Tennis star, and Africa’s number one, Seun Ogunsakin, has earned the right to feature at the 2023 Wimbledon Junior Grand Slam via a wild card entry
It is the first for any Nigerian junior tennis player.
The Tunisia-base young lad, who has risen to the peak of Africa’s U-14 ranking, is also billed to begin a European Tournament tour before hitting Wimbledon.
Osunsakin rose from his number four position to upstage the best of Africa’s young tennis players in the recently concluded Africa junior Championship held in Togo, without dropping a point.
The feat earned him both the continent’s number one spot and qualified him for the well-respected international grass-court Grand Slam.
Tennis buffs in the continent are certain that the wild card and planned European tournament tours set the Ekiti-born prodigy on a perfect course to have a good run in breaking into the international circuit.
