The Italian manager and Tottenham have finally parted ways as they mutually agreed to let go of each other after spending just 16 months on the job.
Conte was appointed last season when Tottenham was struggling and the Italian was quick to make an impact as he secured Champions League football for the Spurs ahead of local rivals Arsenal and Manchester united.
This season has been another story for the club this season as the premier league and Seria A winner has been unable to end Tottenham’s trophy drought as they are out of all domestic cups and also the Champions League and are 20 points behind league leaders.
Conte’s last match was right before the international break where they let a 2-goal advantage slip away against relegation-threatened side Southampton to draw 3-3. Making Conte make brutal comments about his players and the club right after the match in a post-match conference.
Conte’s contract will expire this summer, but Tottenham was not going to wait till then to get the Italian out.
A handful of managers are being looked at to replace Conte, the recently sacked Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, along with Luis Enrique and former Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
