Remo Stars highly rated youngster Shola Ogundana has completed a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
Ogundana plays for the club’s academy Beyond Limits FA, he was in action as they knocked out their senior team in the Ogun State FA Cup.
Ogundana recently helped Beyond Limits FA win the 2023 TCC League Championship where he emerged as the assist king with ten assists in 18 matches and was named in the Team of the Season.
Flamengo scouted the 18-year-old attacker during the Viarregio Cup 2022, a traditional grassroots tournament held annually in Tuscany, Italy.
Flamengo’s scouts were impressed by Shola’s performance in the Viarregio Cup and decided to send a scout to Nigeria to watch him play again.
After the observation, Flamengo concluded the signing of the talented striker for their under-20 team, as per Globo.
The talented winger becomes the second player from the Remo Stars to complete a high-profile switch this season after Ebenezer Akinsanmiro was signed by Inter-Milan.
