Cameroon, defending champion, has qualified for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Algeria, winning the UNIFFAC zone tournament.
The Cameroonian team led by coach Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala dominated the Central African Republic 4-0 in the opening of the tournament.
In their second outing on Sunday, the Indomitable Lions overcame a nervous first half to beat Congo Brazzaville 2-0.
This victory guarantees Cameroon’s place among the first two of the tournament and allows it to automatically qualify for the next AFCON U17.
Central African Republic and Congo Brazzaville will battle it out for the final ticket, to complete the list of 12 nations qualified for the continental event.
As a reminder, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Mali, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan and Zambia have all already qualified for the competition scheduled for 29 April to May 19, 2023.
