African soccer governing body ( CAF) has decided to disqualify the U17 team of Djibouti and Sudan from participating in the CECAFa region of the qualifier for the 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations.
All the qualified teams has arrived in Ethiopia venue of the competition and they have to face the compulsory Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( MRI) before they staff the competition
Some players in both teams failed the test which automatically ruled them out of the tournament.
Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed that the CAF Youth Organizing Committee decided to disqualify the two teams in accordance with article 27.4 of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations. The article stipulates that: “ If after performing the agenon-eligible disqualified.”
