Burundi has secured a qualification ticket for the last round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers where they will face Nigeria’s Falconets.
After losing the first leg 3-2 away to DR Congo, the Burundi team won the second leg 1-0 in a match played at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, Uganda on Friday.
Annociatte Nshimirimana scored after 7 minutes and the goal was important to help Burundi qualify for the fourth stage on an away goals rule after the two teams tied 3-3.
The final round of the qualifiers will see Burundi take on Nigeria.
Four teams will qualify to represent Africa at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia as representatives of the African continent.
