Defending champion and current season’s race leader Max Verstappen has taken pole position ahead of tomorrow’s race at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.
The Dutchman was fastest during final qualify while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes came in second and third respectively in an intense session.
Most drivers had issues with adjusting to the Australian environment as a result of jetlag and this was evident during the practice sessions on Friday.
Below is how the drivers will start on the grid tomorrow.
But with the pole position Red Bull’s of Max Verstappen and the struggles of his teammate Sergio Pérez who crashed out in the first round of qualifying, the Dutchman can extend his lead on championship with a race win on Sunday.
