FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez wants Barcelona to sign a replacement for Memphis Depay as soon as possible and Wolverhampton’s winger Goncalo Guedes has emerged as an option.
The coach has already talked to Guedes and the Portuguese is excited about the possible move. Xavi likes Goncalo for his profile — a pure winger who feels at home on the left wing.
Barca’s problem with Financial Fair Play is complicating the move as the club wants to sign the 26-year-old on loan with a non-obligatory buy option at the end of the season. They hope that Joan Laporta’s good relationship with Goncalo’s agent Jorge Mendes will facilitate the deal.
This term so far, Guedes has recorded 2 goals and one assist in 18 matches (13 starts) for Wolves.
