Nigeria Premier Football League new champions Enugu Rangers will be crowned as the champions of the league in their final league game against Gombe United at the New Jos Stadium, Jos, Plateau State on Sunday following the approval of Plateau State governor for Gombe United to host their home game in the state capital
All final games of the season have been mandated to start simultaneously across all the venues on Sunday which means one of Doma United and Gombe United who are both using the Pantami Stadium for their home games will have to get another venue for the final game of the season
According to a reliable source in Jos, His Excellency Barr Caleb Manasseh Muftwang has graciously approved the hosting of the final 2023/2024 NPFL game between Gombe United and Rangers International of Enugu while important football Dignitaries in the state and the country are expected to witness the game.
Some of the important dignitaries expected are the Hon Minister for Sports, Senator John Enoh, NFF President, Alh Ibrahim Gasau, NFF Vice Presidents, NFF General Secretary, Chairman, NFF Technical Committee, Chairman, NFF Match Commissioner’s Committee, Chairperson of NFF Referee’s Committee, President, Nigeria Referee’s Association, President, Nigeria Football Coaches Association, All Thirty-Six plus Abuja F.A Chairmen, Chairman Senate Committee on Sports, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Sports and Perm Sec Federal Ministry of Sports
Ex-internationals Nwankwo Kanu, Daniel Amokachi, and Austin JJ Okocha are also expected to be at the stadium while the NPFL Board led by the chairman Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and the COO Prince Davidson Owumi
Rangers won the NPFL for the 8th time last weekend after defeating Bendel Insurance by 2-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium
