Red Bull driver Sergio Pérez has won his first race of the season at the Saudi Arabia GP in Jeddah with his teammate Max Verstappen gaining 13 places to finish 2nd behind the Mexican.
Fernando Alonso who thought he finished 3rd was given a 10-second penalty for incorrectly serving a time penalty was downgraded to 4th thus giving Mercedes driver George Russell a 3rd place prize for his efforts.
In a race that showed the dominance of the Red Bull cars, most commentators have predicted that it might be a one horse race with the raw pace of their cars. The only competition might be between Dutch driver Verstappen and Mexican Pérez as the season trudge on.
The next race will be on the 2nd of April when the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit hosts the Australian GP.
