Finidi George has decided to throw in the towel as the coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The former Real Betis winger was made a permanent manager of the team a few weeks back following the departure of Jose Peseiro.
The poor results of the Super Eagles on days 3 and 4 of the 2026 World Cup qualifier changed the situation for the former Enyimba coach.
The Sports Minister John Enoh met with the Nigeria Football Federation headed by Ibrahim Gusau to discuss the performance of the team.
After much deliberation and discussion, they agreed to hire a foreign coach for the team and allow Finidi to remain in the technical crew.
But it filtered in on Saturday afternoon that Finidi had decided to step down from the team.
