Enugu Rangers have won the Nigeria Professional Football League 2023/2024 season with a game to spare, their first league time since 2016.
The flying antelopes on Sunday evening defeated visiting Bendel Insurance by 2-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu to win their 8th NPFL title
Kenechukwu Agwu’s 33rd-minute freekick goal for Rangers Int’l gave them the lead while Chidiebere Nwobodo made it two in the 65th minute.
The win over Insurance took Rangers to points 67pts, 5pts ahead of Remo Stars in the 2nd place with just one game to go
It’s also the first league title for coach Fidelis Ilechukwu after finishing 2nd twice with Plateau United and MFM FC
The new NPFL champions will get a CAF Champions League ticket for next season and 150 million Naira from the League organizers.
