The hope of Halimatu Ayinde representing Nigeria at the upcoming Olympics in Paris has been dashed.
Her Norwegian club Rosengard FC on Thursday afternoon confirmed that the Nigerian International has injured her knee and will not be available.
” Unfortunately Halimatu Ayinde injured her knee during training yesterday and will miss the Olympics .
We wish her a speedy recovery, come Halimatu”, the club.
Her absence is expected to have a significant impact in the team.
The hardworking midfielder was part of the Super Falcons team to the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
