Groups C and D served us some nail-biting encounters today as several European giants looked to secure a place in the next round. Although England, France and the Netherlands had already qualified, they needed to win their games to have a safer landing in the next round.
France and Poland played a 1-1 draw, with Kylian Mbappe scoring from the penalty spot and Robert Lewandowski equalising in the same fashion moments later after he had to retake the penalty.
Netherlands on the other hand lost to Ralf Ragnick’s men and his aggressive tactics. It was a beautiful footballing display from both sides, but it was Marcel Sabitzer who scored the winner 9 minutes from time.
England and Slovania settled for a goalless draw in what happened to be a game with few chances created, while Denmark and Serbia also ended goalless.
