The organiser of the ongoing U17 WAFU championship in Ghana, has revealed the reason they have to changed the kick off time of the semi-final games.
The last four matches was initially fixed for 3 and 6 pm on Saturday but has to be moved to night to favour the players.
One of the organiser who pleaded anonymity said they almost lost a player due to Ghana’s harsh weather.
” We almost lost a player in the game between Niger and Burkina Faso, but the quick intervention of the medical officers rescued him from sudden death on the pitch,” he added.
“With this development, we took the decision to change the time.
The weather in Accra is too harsh, so we had to move the time of the semi- finals fixtures to when the weather will be more friendly for the young footballers”, he said.
Host Ghana will face Burkina Faso while Nigeria will play Ivory Coast in the semi final.
