Following their shocking defeat to the Cheetah of Benin, the head coach of the Super Eagles Finidi George has remained optimistic about the team’s qualification.
Despite scoring first, the Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat against Benin in Ivory Coast and put their hope of reaching the next World Cup in jeopardy.
While speaking after the game, Finidi said they have to find a way to bring the players back to perform.
” Our aim is to win but there is no special formula for that.
The players will start a new season and we will see how we can get the best out of the players.
Everybody must be committed and I think with that commitment, we will win games.
If we can win games, we will still be there, we cant throw in the towel just became we have only 3 points.
We have to find a way to get this players back in a way they have to perform”, he said.
