The World soccer governing body has decided to open an investigation into the chants of Ecuador’s fans on the opening day of the World Cup.
The fans of the South American country were heard making a request for beer in their chants on the opening day of the competition.
Due to the law of the land, FIFA placed a ban on the sale of alcohol around the stadium premises a decision that never went well with the football fans gracing the tournament in Qatar.
The football body on Wednesday announced that they have commenced an investigation into the chants.
Chants “Queremos Cerveza, Queremos Cerveza.”
Meaning: “we want beer, we want beer.”
Ecuador will face the Netherlands, in their second group game on Friday.
