When Nigeria’s Super Eagles return to action in the final game of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier it may likely be without one of its key midfielders Alex Iwobi.
The 3-time African champions have already booked their place in the biennial competition with a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone in the last game played in Monrovia, Liberia.
They will face the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe in the last game and the Everton star player is likely to miss the clash.
Iwobi sustained a hamstring injury in the Premier league game against Aston Villa last weekend and the reports coming from Goodison Park indicated that he will be out for a few weeks.
