The hope of Nigeria’s Super Eagles duo of Moses Simon and Terem Moffi to join the list of the past Nigerians to have won the Marc Vivien Foe award has been dashed.
Due to their exploits this season in the league, the Nigerian internationals were listed for the much-coveted award alongside other 7 players from the continent.
The list was pruned down to 3 and none of Simon or Moffi made the final cut of the listed players.
The final 3 players include Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand ( Gabon and Marseille), Nabil Bentaleb ( Algeria and Lille), and Achraf Hakimi ( Morocco and PSG).
Since the inception of the award in 2009, Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen are 2 Nigerian players who have emerged as the recipients of the award.
