Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria on Sunday night in Marrakech qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Women’s champions league after they recorded a resounding 3-0 win against Wadi Degla.
The Prosperity Girls started the tournament on a losing note to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa but rallied back to a 2-0 win over TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
They needed to win their last group B match against Wadi Degla and they did it in style.
Juliet Sunday scored the opening goal in the 16th minute before a brace from Itami Mercy in the 48th and 53rd minutes handed the Nigerian side a semi-final ticket.
The defending champions Sundowns topped the group after they defeated TP Mazembe while Bayelsa Queens dropped to the second position.
Sundowns will face Simba Queens and Bayelsa Queens will trade tackles with AS FAR of Morocco in the semi-final of the tournament.
