AFTER the spiralling success recorded in the IFA League, the foremost football Association will start the Female version of the League.
The Association’s helmsman, Mogaji Rotimi Alli disclosed that the Association decided to commence the IFA Female League in order to rekindle the dying embers of Female Football in Ibadanland in particular and Oyo State in general.
He noted with dismay that the State which used to be the pioneers and scouting ground for Female football players in the country had become a shadow of itself as female footballers of the State now plied their trade for other States across the country.
Alli explained further that his Association would provide the necessary enabling environment for Female football to flourish in Ibadanland.
While commending the Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA) led by Oba James Odeniran for his support to the Association by granting the necessary approval and encouragement for the Competition, Libero reiterated that IFA would not let the State FA down in this new project.
Speaking on the gains of the Competition, Alli said the Competition would serve as ” a source of employment and gainfully engage our female youths”.
He disclosed that part of the aims of the Female League Program was to have the State adequately represented in all of the nation’s National teams and also make Ibadan the hotbed of Female Soccer in Nigeria.
Libero, a former footballer and lawyer urged Female Football Coaches and Stakeholders to register for the competition which takes off this month.
