As the deadline approaches for the countries hoping to host the 2025 African Cup of Nations, one of the top countries has decided to drop out of the bidding process.
Guinea was originally scheduled to stage the event but had to be stripped after they failed to meet up in terms of facilities and infrastructure.
African soccer ruling body in October decided to reopen the bidding process and interested countries have started showing interest.
Egypt Sports minister Ashraf Sobhi on Sunday after making a formal announcement that the country has pulled out of the budding process.
The North African country hosted the 2019 edition of the tournament in which Algeria emerged as the winner.
