Nigeria’s D’Tigers will commence their quest to secure a place in the 2025 Afrobasketball competition with qualifiers against tough oppositions.
The FIBA Africa on Friday released a draw for the qualifier and the Nigerian side has been handed a tough group to contend with.
D’Tigers have been having a difficult time recently and they are having another opportunity to redeem their image.
According to the group released on Friday evening D’Tigers will have to negotiate their way in the qualifier with games against Cape Verde, Uganda and Z1+Z2.
Group A has South Sudan, Mali, DR Congo and Z6+MRI+COM, Group C teams include Senegal, Cameroon, Rwanda and Z3+Z4.
Group D consists of CIV, Egypt, CAF and Z5 +MAD + DJI and Group E has Tunisia, Angola, Kenya and Guinea.
Group D, B and E will have their qualifiers in February 2024 and Group A and C will have their qualifiers in November, 2024.
Sixteen teams will qualify to play in the competition proper in the 2025.
