Willi Orban, a defender for RB Leipzig, told GOAL and SPOX that he thinks Sadio Mane’s arrival will provide the Bundesliga a significant boost after Robert Lewandowski left. Lewandowski, who departed for Barcelona for a rumored sum of €50 million (£42 million/$50 million), was the German top division’s most prolific scorer this season. Erling Haaland, a star goal scorer for Borussia Dortmund, also left for Manchester City.
But with the addition of Senegal sensation Sadio Mane from Liverpool in a move of €41m (£35m/$43m), Bayern has revitalized their attack.
What was said about Sadio Mane by Orban?
Without Lewandowski and Haaland, Orban joked that the Bundesliga would become monotonous, but he still believes Mane poses a serious challenge to Bayern’s dominance.
When questioned about his hardest opponents, he responded, “There are quite a few. It was never simple to defend against Lewandowski and Haaland because they are just two outstanding players. They have been important strikers in recent years.
“This season, they aren’t there, and I was beginning to think I’ll be a little bored until Sadio Mane was signed.
There are already a lot of good players in the league, but Mane will be a genuine rocket for us and for me.
