The home-based D’Tigers who will be representing Nigeria at the AfroCan, a competition for only home-based players or players who play in Africa have departed Lagos by air and should arrive in Abidjan later today.
The roster consists of 95% of the team that represented Nigeria at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Angola in February this year.
They face Guinea, Benin Republic, and Coted I’voire this weekend.
It will be recalled that they defeated Coted I’voire and Guinea in their first and second game at the World Cup Qualifiers in Angola. They meet them again in this qualifiers.
Abdulwahab Yakubu, Israel Otobo and Lekan Olatunji make way for Bayo Oduleye, Tolani Buhari and Abba Adamu Adam.
