To rescue the dwindling performance of the team in the ongoing 2022/2023 Jupiler league season, KV Kortrijk has announced for Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Joseph Akpala as the club assistant coach, BraceRadio.com understand
Akpala started his professional career in 2006 with Bendel United before joining Bendel Insurance the same year.
He started his foreign adventure at Sporting Charleroi, where he won the top scorer title in 2008.
He then scored 56 goals in 168 games for Club Brugge, he has also played in Germany and Turkey before returning to Belgium with KV Oostende.
He was announced alongside another club legend Jimmy Hempte.
“VK Kortrijk expands the technical staff with Jimmy Hempte & Joseph Akpala. They join Adnan Custovic’s staff and start working as assistant coaches”, the club confirmed.
Akpala was part of Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2013 FIFA Confederation cup in Brazil under late coach Stephen Keshi.
