Following his remarkable season, Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has been named Rookie Player of the Year.
The skillful forward joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer from the Belgian Jupiler League side USG.
Despite having an injury midway into the season, Bonuface was able to score a load of goals to help Levekusen to their first title.
He scored 13 league goals despite missing three months with injury, also netting five times in the Europa League.
Boniface dumped out Xavi Simon and 2 other players to win the award.
