The manager of the German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen Xabi Alonso has referred to Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface as a complete striker and poacher.
The Nigerian International joined the German side this summer after a superb performance in the Belgian Jupiler League.
His 4 goals and 2 assists this season have pushed Leverkusen to the top of the table.
“He does everything well. Not only with his game, he helps the team.
He has good relations with Grimaldo, with Florian Wirtz and with Jonas Hofmann.
Boniface wants to enjoy the game. But not just for himself. He’s not just a classic striker, not just a regular poacher.
It is complete and we are happy with him, he has scored four goals so far, but we expect more,” he said.
Boniface is expected to make his debut this weekend when the Super Eagles face Sao Tome and Principe in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
