The former Chairman of States FA Chairmen, Ibrahim Gusau has emerged the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) this afternoon in an Elective Congress in Heritage Hotel Benin City, Edo State.
He succeeds former president ,Amaju Melvin Pinnick who served for eight years as NFF president.
The contenders were Ibrahim Gusau, CAF committee member and the Zamfara FA Chairman
Seyi Akinwunmi, first Vice President of the NFF
Shehu Dikko, the Chairman of the League Management Company
Peterside Idah Idah, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper
Abba Yola, the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Sports

Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi: 12
Mallam Shehu Dikko: 6
Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau: 21
Dr. Christian Emeruwa: 0
Peterside Idah: 1
Alhaji Abba Abdullahi Yola: 1
David-Buhari Doherty: 0
But Ibrahim Gusau needed 22 votes to win the election hence a final run-off for all candidates that had at least one vote which was the way to go according to the
NFF constitution.
Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, and Abba Yola all stepped down leaving a final run-off between Ibrahim Gusau and Peterside.
The former Zamfara State Football Association chairman eventually emerged victorious after the Re-run and will now be in charge of the NFF for the next four years.
